The situation began when an Amalfi Jets client attempted to charge her friends for seats on a private jet journey. The client, who utilizes an Amalfi Jets jet card, had arranged a flight on a Challenger 850 from San Diego to Aspen to transport six of her friends. However, she proceeded to request that each friend pay $5,000 for a seat, claiming this fee was for a VIP section on the aircraft.
One of the passengers contacted the team at Amalfi Jets to confirm whether payment should be directed to the company or to the client. Upon learning that the flight was already fully paid for, the client's father intervened when he discovered his daughter was attempting to monetize the flight. He subsequently canceled the trip, leaving the friends frustrated after they had already sent the funds to the client without authorization. The experience serves as a clear reminder that attempting to collect personal payments from friends for a private jet charter is not appropriate.
